I Don't Like Veggies, Now What?

Hi Reader,

So believe it or not, there are people out there that don’t like veggies…go figure.

It could be that if you’re one of these people, maybe you don’t care for veggies because you weren’t raised eating them on a regular basis. Or maybe the way you had them prepared, or the texture, didn’t agree with you.

It’s more common than you know.

Honestly, I always tease my husband that he never ate a vegetable until he met me because he could eat chicken and rice literally everyday. I’ve seen him do it.

But you still have your reasons for wanting to do this. It could be you want to live a healthier lifestyle or perhaps you have a health issue you need to get under control and you’ve decided this is your best option.

The good news is that there are many ways to enjoy a plant-based diet without having to eat a lot of vegetables. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

  1. Focus on fruits: Fruits are a great source of nutrients and can be very satisfying. Try adding some fresh fruit to your breakfast, snacking on it throughout the day, or even using it in smoothies or desserts.
  2. Experiment with grains: There are many grains that can be used as a base for meals, such as quinoa, brown rice, or whole wheat pasta. These can be combined with other ingredients like beans, tofu, or sauces to create a satisfying meal.
  3. Incorporate legumes: Legumes like lentils, chickpeas, and black beans are a great source of protein and can be used in a variety of dishes. Try making a bean-based chili, lentil soup, or hummus.
  4. Try new things: If you're not a fan of certain vegetables, try experimenting with different cooking methods, seasonings, or even different types of vegetables altogether. You may be surprised to find that you enjoy them prepared in a different way.
  5. Use condiments and spices: Flavorful sauces, dressings, and spices can make any meal more enjoyable. Experiment with different condiments and seasonings to find what you like best.
  6. Seek guidance: If you are struggling with incorporating vegetables into your diet, seek guidance from a nutritionist or registered dietitian who can provide you with personalized recommendations and support.

Remember, transitioning to a plant-based or vegan lifestyle can be challenging, but it's important to focus on the positive changes you are making for your health, the environment, and animal welfare.

Don't be too hard on yourself if it takes some time to adjust. With patience, persistence, and a willingness to try new things, you can create a satisfying and delicious plant-based diet that works for you.

So, I hope you’ve found these tips useful and encouraging as you begin your transitioning journey.

Thanks again,

Hugs and chocolate kisses! Kadae
